About susie kemp
Tell us a little bit about yourself. I have been designing for almost 19 years. I have been teaching kitchen design for the last 16 years.
I started training first as a trainer with big box company, and then, for the last 13 years as needed, here at CKF. I love a challenge and in my spare time, design and sew custom handbags. I have traveled extensively and I have been to 26 different countries throughout the world and feel that influence has made me a more versatile designer. I love mentoring and helping to guide others to be the best they can be.
What kind of style designer are you: contemporary, modern, classic, eclectic, rustic, traditional, etc.? I can design in any style the customer desires. However, I do love contemporary materials and design. Especially, if someone is willing to think outside the box. Contemporary design allows the space to stand out on its own with the cabinetry and countertops being part of a harmonious and minimalistic environment.
What are your design aesthetics? My personal design aesthetics are very eclectic. I really don’t worry about trends or what will be in or out. My motto is “if you love it, it is in YOUR style and that is all that matters”. But part of being a well-developed designer is the ability to adapt to any aesthetic or trend.
Why do you love being a designer? It allows me to be able to meld my creative side with the side of me that likes to figure out how to make things fit together. Every design is different and presents its own challenges, no matter the size, so it is never boring or stale.
Why do you enjoy working at CKF?I love the people I work with and consider it to be such an honor to be able to help them to continue to develop and become even more fabulous then they already are! We have an exceptional group of people working here, in every facet of the business.
