Trends in kitchen design are constantly evolving and while there are classic design elements that withstand the test of time, there are noticeable shifts that end up defining a decade. For example, we all remember the popularity of yellow oak cabinets in the 90’s, the dark cherry cabinets and granite countertops of the early 2000’s and the “white kitchen” of the 2010’s. While a classic white kitchen will never go out of style, we’ve began to see a shift in design as warm wood tones have been gaining in popularity this past year. Wood cabinets are a versatile option when designing your kitchen and a far cry from the dated styles of the past. Today we’re sharing a stunning kitchen design from Oakstone Homes that combines the warmth of white oak with the brightness of the classic white kitchen.
To create a fresh canvas, ivory cabinets from our 360 Classic collection were selected for the perimeter of the kitchen. Accented with gold hardware, the shaker-style doors create a beautiful backdrop for the space. Additional details such as the glass-paned doors on either side of the vent hood add character and charm.
The island features white-washed oak cabinetry from our 360 Signature collection, adding warmth and dimension to the space. The oak cabinetry is carried into the living room with built-ins on either side of the fireplace and helps unify the two spaces.
Overall, we love this fresh take on oak cabinetry and the contrast it creates by balancing out the white cabinetry. This design is the perfect blend of timeless and on-trend, making it a great inspiration for your next project.
