WHAT IS QUARTZ?
Quartz and Engineered surfaces are man-made products that are created using various minerals to create a compact surface that requires minimal care and maintenance. Quartz does not require regular sealing like natural stone.
GENERAL CLEANING
Quartz is stain resistant but is not stain proof. Routine and timely cleaning is recommended.
- Wipe spills immediately.
- Use a mild solution of dish soap and warm water.
- Always use a clean, soft cloth.
- Do not use harsh and abrasive scouring pads or cleaning agents. Using these items may permanently alter the finish.
DEEP CLEANING
GREASE STAINS
Apply a small amount of Formula 409, Window Cleaner, or other non-abrasive general cleaner to the stain and rub in a circular motion with a non-scratch scouring pad. Rinse immediately with water.
LIME SCALE AND HARD WATER STAINS
Apply a paste of equal parts baking soda and white vinegar. Let the mixture sit on the surface for 10-20 minutes, then remove with cold water using a non-scratch scouring pad. Repeat as necessary.
SCRATCHES AND CHIPPING
Quartz is scratch and chip resistant but is not scratch and chip proof. Always use a cutting board and trivets on rough surfaced items.
- For scratch and chip repair, contact your local CKF showroom.
HEAT AND UV EXPOSURE
- Do not install quartz surfaces outdoors. Fading and discoloration will occur when exposed to direct, unfiltered sunlight.
- Quartz is heat resistant. Always use a trivet under hot items and countertop appliances. Scorching and cracking may occur if quartz is exposed to high heat.
